In the heart of Rwanda, a groundbreaking venture is brewing. Kweza Craft Brewery makes history as the nation’s first craft brewery—and notably, the country’s first female-led brewery. Founded on a mission that transcends beer, Kweza aims to build generational wealth for women by creating a business entirely led by, training, and employing women. Central to turning this vision into reality is their advanced 1000L beer brewing system, a professional foundation that enables full local production. With this robust equipment, Kweza passionately sources local ingredients to craft outstanding beer, innovate non-alcoholic beverages, and create delicious food pairings—proving that a brewery can be both a successful business and a powerful force for community empowerment.
In 2022, we had a lot of discussions on the issue of 1000L beer brewing system, and finally Tiantai was very honored to support Kweza Craft Brewery to build a dream brewery together.
The main specifications of the 1000L beer brewing system:
— Malt Miller 300-500 kg/hr
— Flexible Auger
— 800L Grist Silo
— 1000L 3 vessel brewhouse: MT + LT + KWT + HLT, steam heated
— 7 x 1000L fermentation tank + 1 x 1000L bright beer tank
— 1000L glycol water tank + 2000L cold water tank + 2 x 5HP chiller
— Brewhouse control cabinet + Fermentation control cabinet
— Auto keg filler and auto keg washer
— Air compressor, beer kegs and all other auxiliary equipment
After approximately 40 days of careful transport and logistical planning, the brewery equipment has successfully arrived in Rwanda. We are delighted to share this exciting milestone with you!
In the image below, you can see the system being carefully unloaded and moved into the brewery space—a key moment marking the beginning of onsite installation and the final steps toward bringing this brewing project to life.
Tiantai provided comprehensive technical support throughout the project, including detailed 2D and 3D layout drawings, clear installation videos, complete user manuals, and all necessary technical documentation. With this well-prepared information and guidance, the customer was able to carry out the installation independently on site in a smooth and efficient manner. The entire system was successfully assembled, commissioned, and put into operation according to the project plan. The customer demonstrated excellent execution and professionalism during the installation process, and the final result fully met the design expectations. This project once again proves Tiantai’s strong engineering support capability and our commitment to helping customers achieve successful installations worldwide.
With everything fully prepared and commissioned, the brewery officially started brewing their first batch of beer using the 1000L beer brewing system. The system ran smoothly from mashing to fermentation, marking an important milestone for the brewery. Congratulations on every successful brew achieved with the 1000L beer brewing system! The brewhouse is equipped with a glass manhole customized with the customer’s logo, adding a unique and professional visual identity to the system. The transparent glass design allows brewers to easily observe the internal process during mashing and lautering, while the custom logo enhances brand recognition and overall appearance. This combination of functionality and branding makes the brewhouse both practical and visually impressive, perfectly reflecting the customer’s brewery image.
The customer is currently using a 100L CIP cart to clean their fermentation tanks as part of their 1000L beer brewing system, ensuring efficient, safe, and consistent sanitation. The CIP system delivers stable flow, reliable heating, and strong circulation performance, allowing thorough cleaning of the inner surfaces of the fermenters and piping. By integrating this 100L CIP cart into daily operations, the brewery is able to maintain high hygiene standards while significantly reducing manual labor and cleaning time. This solution improves overall efficiency and reliability, making it an ideal cleaning system for small to medium-sized breweries operating a 1000L beer brewing system.
